Halong Bay is a beautiful place that has been designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.  

It is located in Quảng Ninh Province, Vietnam, and is a popular travel destination for many people. 

Hạ Long is named after a "descending dragon". 

The bay has thousands of limestone karsts and isles in various shapes and sizes. 

Hạ Long Bay is located in a larger zone that encompasses Bai Tu Long Bay to the northeast and Cát Bà Island to the southwest. 

Larger zones tend to share similar geological, geographical, geomorphological, climate, and cultural characters. 

The bay has a core area of 334 km2 with a high density of 775 islets and reefs. 

The climate of the Gulf is tropical, humid, oceanic with two seasons: hot and humid summers, and dry and cool winters.
