Union Home Minister Amit Shah conducts a press conference to discuss the new Parliament building's inauguration.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will install a historic golden scepter, called Sengol, near the Speaker's seat during the ceremony.

Amit Shah explains the legacy and historical significance of Sengol, which symbolizes the transfer of power from the British to the Indians.

The golden scepter was originally presented to India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru, to commemorate the transfer of power.

The Sengol was previously housed in a museum in Allahabad and will now be moved to the new Parliament building.

According to Amit Shah, receiving the Sengol signifies a commitment to fair and just governance.

The Sengol has historical connections to the Chola Empire, and its significance was rediscovered in the early 1970s by a Tamil scholar.
