A very rare breed of dog that was created less than 200 years ago to fulfill the hunting purpose for Norwegian people. Though they are uncommon outside their native place.

Straight, short and dense hair which might be hard to touch but appear glossy.
It has a great stamina and exquisite smelling sense. He dislikes the densely populated area but loves the outer or wide-open spaces of the city. Even though he is a born hunter, but he is wonderful at guarding too.
They behave calmly at home with near ones but may react aggressive to strangers or may bite if tried to be tamed by them. He needs training.
Less compatibility with other pets as he is less on socializing.
Hip Dysplasia, Von Willebrand’s disease, Ear infections and Bloating are some health conditions that need attention for this one.
Needs experienced and knowledgeable owners who have patience to deal with the dos’s aggressiveness.
Average Lifespan 10 – 12 year
Needs premium nutrition enriched with protein ad calcium. Needs to be fed twice a day.
