Jiah Khan's Suicide Case: CBI Court in Mumbai Likely to Pass Judgment Today

28-04-2023

A special CBI court in Mumbai is likely to pass judgment on the actress Jiah Khan's suicide case today after almost a decade after her death.

Jiah Khan was found hanging from the ceiling of her house in Mumbai’s Juhu area by her mother, Rabia Khan, on June 3, 2013.

Jiah's then-boyfriend, actor Suraj Pancholi, was arrested by the Juhu Police for abetment to suicide after a 6-page letter was found in her house that was purportedly written by Jiah.

The suicide letter described their tumultuous relationship, and it was claimed to be a piece of evidence against Suraj.

Jiah's mother, Rabia Khan, alleged loopholes in the investigation and sought a CBI probe.

After hearing Rabia, the Bombay High Court transferred the case to the CBI, which concluded that it was a case of abetment to suicide and not murder.

Ahead of the verdict in the case, Rabia said that she spent 10 years exposing the truth and now it's up to the court to deliver the right judgment.
