Maharana Pratap was born on May 9, 1540, in Kumbhalgarh, Mewar (now in Rajasthan, India), and belonged to the Sisodia Rajput dynasty.

He is known for his bravery and fierce resistance against the Mughal empire, particularly against the Mughal emperor Akbar.

Maharana Pratap's most famous battle was the Battle of Haldighati in 1576, where he fought against the Mughal army led by Man Singh I

Despite being outnumbered and outmatched in resources, Maharana Pratap never surrendered to the Mughals and continued to fight for the independence of his kingdom.

Maharana Pratap's patriotism and love for his kingdom inspired many other Rajput leaders to join his cause and fight against the Mughals.

The Maharana Pratap Memorial in Udaipur, Rajasthan, is dedicated to his memory and houses a statue of the warrior king on horseback, along with a museum showcasing his life and achievements.
