Mahima Chaudhary was born on 13 September 1973 in Darjeeling, West Bengal, India. Her birth name is Ritu Chaudhary, but she changed it to mean "Mahima" in Hindi.
She made her Bollywood debut with the critically acclaimed film "Pardes" in 1997, directed by Subhash Ghai.
