Minister Bhupendra Yadav Announces Increase in Leopard Population
Union Cabinet Minister for Environment, Forest & Climate Change; and Labour & Employment, Bhupender Yadav, announced today the release of the report on the Status of Leopards in India.
The report reveals a positive trend, indicating an increase in the estimated leopard population in 70% of the leopard occupied areas in India. The latest count stands at 13,874 leopards, up from 12,852 in 2018.
Minister Bhupender Yadav credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi's guidance for steering this conservation journey.
