Mumbai Court Acquits Woman of Rash Driving as Police Fail to Prove Photo Evidence
A Mumbai court acquitted a woman of rash driving charges after the police failed to prove photo evidence against her.
The woman was booked under Section 279 (rash driving or riding on a public way) of the Indian Penal Code.
The incident occurred in 2014, when the woman's car allegedly hit a two-wheeler, resulting in injuries to the rider.
The police had produced a photograph of the woman allegedly driving the car at the time of the accident as evidence.
However, the defence argued that the photo was not clear and that it did not prove that the woman was driving the car.
The court, after examining the photo, found that it was not clear and that the police had failed to prove that the woman was driving the car.
The court also noted that the prosecution had failed to produce any eyewitnesses to the accident.
As a result, the court acquitted the woman of all charges, stating that the prosecution had failed to prove its case beyond a reasonable doubt.
