President Honors Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati's Legacy

 

President Smt. Droupadi Murmu graced the 200th Janmotsav – Gyan Jyoti Parv Smaranotsav Samaroh in Tankara, Gujarat, commemorating Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati's birth anniversary.

In her address, she highlighted Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati's significant contributions, emphasizing his role in advocating social reform and composing the seminal work 'Satyarth Prakash' to uphold truth.

President Murmu praised Swamiji's efforts in dispelling superstitions and challenging societal norms prevalent in 19th-century India. He championed causes such as opposing child marriage and polygamy, advocating widow remarriage, and promoting women's education and self-respect.

She emphasized the enduring impact of Maharshi Dayanand Saraswati's teachings, noting how his ideals have inspired notable figures like Lokmanya Tilak, Lala Hansraj, Swami Shraddhanand, and Lala Lajpat Rai, instilling a sense of consciousness and self-confidence among the Indian populace, guiding them towards modernity and social justice.
