Raveena Tandon: A Three-Decade Career in Indian Film Industry

 

Raveena Tandon is an Indian actress and former model who has acted in over 90 Hindi films in a career spanning almost three decades.

Her education was from Jamnabai Narsee School located in Juhu and Mithibai College situated in Mumbai.

Raveena Tandon was born on October 26, 1974, in Mumbai, India. She made her debut in the film ''Patthar Ke Phool'' in 1991.

She is known for her roles in films like 'Mohra', 'Andaz Apna Apna', 'Akhiyon Se Goli Maare', Dilwale', 'Dulhe Raja' and 'Bade Miyan Chote Miyan'.

She won a National Film Award for Best Actress for her role in the film Daman: A Victim of Marital Violence in 2001.

She married Anil Thadani on 22 February 2004, in  Udaipur. The couple has two children daughter Rasha & son Ranbirvardhan.   

She took a break from acting after her marriage but returned to films in 2010 with the Bengali film 'Laboratory'.

She is an advocate for the protection of wildlife and has worked with PETA and the Wildlife Trust of India.

She has won numerous awards for her performances. In 2023 she was awarded the Padma Shri, the fourth-highest Indian civilian honor.

Tandon adopted two girls, Pooja and Chhaya, as single mother in 1995 when they were 11 and 8 years old, respectively.
