He rose to fame as a leading actor in the 1970s and 1980s, starring in blockbuster films like 'Bobby', 'Kabhi Kabhie', 'Amar Akbar Anthony', and 'Chandni'.
Rishi Kapoor won the National Film Award for Best Child Artist for his performance in 'Mera Naam Joker' and the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for his role in 'Bobby'.
He also directed the Hindi language romantic drama film 'Aa Ab Laut Chalen'.
He was known for his charming personality and romantic roles in films, which earned him the nickname "Chintu" among his friends and colleagues.
Rishi Kapoor was married to actress Neetu Singh and they have two children, Ranbir Kapoor, and Riddhima Kapoor Sahani.
Rishi Kapoor was diagnosed with leukemia in 2018 and underwent treatment in New York City for a year before returning to India.
