The Kulandeshwara Temple: A Monument of Chola Dynasty Heritage

The Kulandeshwara Temple, located in the small village of Kunnathur in the state of Tamil Nadu, India 

it is a fascinating example of the architectural and cultural heritage of the Chola dynasty. 

The temple, which is dedicated to Lord Shiva. 

The temple is considered to be one of the most important Chola dynasty monuments in the region 

characterized by its pyramid-shaped towers, or "gopurams", and the use of intricate carvings and sculptures.  

The main temple complex is surrounded by a large courtyard, and the entrance is marked by a grand gopuram. 

The main shrine of the temple is dedicated to Lord Shiva, who is also known as Kulandeshwara. 

The deity is worshipped in the form of a Lingam 

The Lingam is placed in the inner sanctum of the temple 

The temple is known for its annual festival that takes place in the month of January.
