UP government announces Rs 1 lakh reward for reciting Akhand Ramayana and Durga Saptshati Paath during Chaitra Navratri
The Uttar Pradesh government has announced a reward of Rs 1 lakh for those who recite the Akhand Ramayana and Durga Saptshati Paath during Chaitra Navratri.
Chaitra Navratri is a Hindu festival celebrated over nine days in the month of Chaitra (March-April) and is dedicated to Goddess Durga.
The Akhand Ramayana is a continuous recitation of the Ramayana, which lasts for 24 hours and is performed during various Hindu festivals.
The Durga Saptshati Paath is a recitation of 700 verses dedicated to Goddess Durga and is considered to be a powerful spiritual practice.
The reward will be given to individuals who recite the Akhand Ramayana or Durga Saptshati Paath in a temple or religious institution during Chaitra Navratri.
The announcement of the reward has been welcomed by many Hindu religious leaders and organizations in Uttar Pradesh.
The Uttar Pradesh government has also urged people to follow Covid-19 protocols during the festival, including wearing masks and maintaining social distancing.
