There are a surprising number of words that you can’t search on Google. Some of them are obvious, like “sex” or “pornography.” But others are much more innocent, like “love” or “hate.” Here are 10 words that you can’t search on Google, along with a brief explanation of why each one is off-limits.
- “Sex”
This one is pretty self-explanatory. Google doesn’t want to be associated with pornography or other sexually explicit content.
- “Porn”
Again, this is fairly obvious. Google doesn’t want to be the go-to source for pornography.
- “Hate”
Hate speech is not allowed on Google. This includes any content that promotes violence or hatred against individuals or groups based on factors like race, religion, or sexual orientation.
- “Violence”
Related to the previous point, Google does not allow content that promotes violence. This includes things like real violence, not just violence in the abstract.
- “Illegal”
Google doesn’t want to be associated with illegal activities. This includes things like illegal drugs, child pornography, and human trafficking.
- “Hacking”
Hacking is a serious crime, and Google doesn’t want to be seen as condoning it.
- “Spam”
Spam is, of course, unwanted and unsolicited email. Google doesn’t want to be the source of spam for its users.
- “Scams”
Scams are, unfortunately, all too common on the internet. Google doesn’t
