Passport Seva: Scheduled Maintenance Completed Early
The official notice informed users of the portal’s unavailability for technical maintenance from August 29 at 20:00 IST to September 2 at 06:00 IST. The maintenance was crucial for system upgrades and was expected to be fully completed by the scheduled end time. However, the Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced an early completion, with the system restored by 19:00 IST on September 1, 2024.
Rescheduling of Appointments
With the portal now operational, users can once again book appointments, renew passports, and access other services. The Ministry of External Affairs addressed the rescheduling of appointments initially set for August 30, 2024. Applicants will receive notifications regarding their new appointment dates and times.
