Dense Fog Alert:
The meteorological department has issued warnings for dense to very dense fog conditions in the coming days. Punjab, Haryana, Chandigarh, and Delhi are expected to experience this phenomenon until the morning of the 30th, with gradual improvement thereafter. Similar conditions are forecasted for north Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, Bihar, and northeastern states during specific time frames.
Cold Day Conditions:
December 29th brings a forecast of cold day conditions in parts of Punjab, Haryana-Chandigarh-Delhi, and West Uttar Pradesh. Isolated pockets in East Uttar Pradesh are also expected to witness these cold day conditions, making it imperative for residents to brace for the chilly weather.

A fresh Western Disturbance is anticipated to bring light rainfall and snowfall to Jammu-Kashmir, Ladakh, Gilgit-Baltistan, Muzaffarabad, Himachal Pradesh, and Uttarakhand on December 30th and 31st. Simultaneously, lower-level easterly winds from the Bay of Bengal are likely to result in light isolated rainfall over Uttar Pradesh, Madhya Pradesh, and Chhattisgarh from December 31st to January 2nd. South Tamil Nadu and Kerala can expect light to moderate isolated/scattered rainfall from December 31st to January 2nd, with a possibility of isolated heavy rainfall in south Tamil Nadu on December 31st and January 1st.
Minimum Temperatures Forecast:
While no significant change in minimum temperatures is expected over Northwest and East India in the next five days, central India is likely to witness a rise in minimum temperatures by 2-3°C over the next 3-4 days. This forecast emphasizes the regional variations in the ongoing winter weather patterns.
