Yogi Adityanath Visits Prayagraj After Stampede Tragedy, Reviews Kumbh Arrangements

On Saturday, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath visited Prayagraj for the first time following the tragic stampede on Mauni Amavasya.

The incident, which occurred on Wednesday, resulted in the loss of at least 30 lives, with several others injured when a crowd surged past barricades towards a narrow strip of the riverbank. The stampede occurred during the ongoing Maha Kumbh Mela.

Site Inspection and Arrangements for Devotees

During his visit, CM Yogi Adityanath conducted a site inspection of the Triveni Sangam Ghat. This visit was in connection with the Basant Panchami bath, one of the significant rituals during the Maha Kumbh.

Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath observed the ongoing arrangements for the devotees and gave necessary instructions to officials to ensure the smooth conduct of the rituals while maintaining safety and order.

Upcoming Significant Dates for Maha Kumbh

The Maha Kumbh Mela, which began on January 13, will continue until February 26. Devotees are eagerly awaiting the remaining major ‘snan’ dates: February 3, marking the Basant Panchami (Third Shahi Snan), February 12 for Maghi Purnima, and February 26, which will conclude the event with the celebration of Maha Shivaratri.

The state government is prioritizing safety and efficient crowd management to prevent further tragedies as the Kumbh Mela progresses.
