In an effort to further its religious and cultural agenda, the Yogi Adityanath-led government in Uttar Pradesh is set to convene a significant cabinet meeting in Ayodhya on November 9. The agenda of this meeting primarily revolves around the establishment of Teerth Vikas Parishads, marking a strategic move to advance development and cultural initiatives across the state.
The meeting, scheduled ahead of the grand Deepotsav in Ayodhya on November 11, has been strategically planned to focus on proposals associated with religion and culture. Notably, the key agenda is the formation of the Ayodhya Ji Teerth Vikas Parishad, following the model of the Braj Teerth Vikas Parishad, with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath appointed as its chairman. The government will nominate the vice president for this council.
“Another significant proposal slated for approval during the meeting involves the provincialization of religious fairs, including the Makar Sankranti Fair, Basant Panchami Fair in Ayodhya, Kartik Purnima Ganga Snan Fair in Bulandshahr, and Lakhi Mela Dauji Maharaj in Hathras. Provincialization is expected to pave the way for improved facilities and enhanced organization of these events, facilitating grander celebrations”.
“Further deliberations in the cabinet meeting may encompass the establishment of the Uttar Pradesh Inland Waterways Authority, allowing for decision-making on waterway transport development and planning. Additionally, discussions might involve proposals to allocate land to the Tourism Department for enhancing tourism projects near the Sohagibarwa Wildlife Division in Maharajganj”.
These strategic decisions in the cabinet meeting highlight the government’s comprehensive approach to promoting religious, cultural, and developmental initiatives, setting the stage for the upcoming winter session of the Legislature by the end of November. The focus on religious and cultural development councils underscores the government’s agenda and endeavors to achieve its mission and goals for 2024.
