The state government of Uttar Pradesh, under the leadership of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, has extended a festive gesture to state employees by granting a bonus as a Diwali gift. In addition to this bonus, a four percent dearness allowance has been sanctioned for employees.
The announced bonus stands at a generous amount of Rs 6908, benefitting a considerable number of state employees. Approximately 14.82 lakh non-gazetted employees in the state will receive this bonus, providing a substantial financial boost ahead of the festive season.
Moreover, the increased dearness allowance, aligning with the rates observed for central employees, is anticipated to incur a monthly expense of approximately Rs 300 crore from the state exchequer. This significant enhancement in the dearness allowance will elevate the state employees’ allowance from 42 percent to 46 percent.
The positive move by the Yogi government aligns with the recent decision by the Central Government to provide a four percent dearness allowance to its employees. This increase will directly benefit around 10 lakh state employees, eight lakh teachers, and pensioners, ensuring a better financial outlook for their future.
The combined Diwali bonus and increased dearness allowance exemplify the government’s commitment to the welfare and prosperity of its employees, especially during the festive season, underscoring a thoughtful and beneficial initiative by the state government.
