In an effort to mark the festival of Diwali with an enriching gesture, the Yogi Adityanath-led government of Uttar Pradesh has announced a special gift for the beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana. A decision made during a significant cabinet meeting led by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, this offering is part of a series of 20 proposals that received approval during the session held at Log Bhawan in Lucknow.
The decision entails providing free gas cylinders to approximately 1.75 crore beneficiaries of the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana in Uttar Pradesh on the occasion of Diwali. This generous initiative is aimed at contributing to the festive cheer of these beneficiaries, allowing them to celebrate the festival with joy and comfort.
“This move resonates with an electoral promise made by the Bharatiya Janata Party during the assembly elections in 2022, where the provision of free gas cylinders during the festive season was assured. By fulfilling this commitment, the government seeks to deliver on its electoral pledge, aligning the decision with the recent meeting of the Uttar Pradesh Cabinet”.
In addition to this heartwarming gesture, the cabinet meeting saw the approval of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath’s proposal to offer incentives, including land at concessional rates, to attract major corporations for investments in Uttar Pradesh. Finance Minister Suresh Khanna revealed that Samsung India is set to receive an initial sum of Rs 1751 crore over 15 years for their mega project in the state.
“Moreover, with Log India’s investment of Rs 567 crore in Uttar Pradesh, the state government intends to extend an incentive amount in accordance with regulations. The meeting also featured discussions and information sharing about investments in Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) and related matters”.
The government’s initiatives not only extend support to the underprivileged but also underline its efforts to foster economic development and encourage significant investments in the state. This Diwali gift for the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana beneficiaries reflects the administration’s commitment to enhancing the festive spirit while honoring electoral promises and driving progressive development in Uttar Pradesh.
