META CEO Mark Zuckerberg has stunned the world with his latest venture, revealed through an Instagram post. He’s embarked on cattle raising at Ko’olau Ranch on Kauai, aiming to produce what he claims will be “the highest quality beef in the world”. The billionaire’s unique approach includes a diet for the cattle that consists of macadamia nuts and beer, both grown and produced locally on the ranch.
Zuckerberg’s post details his ambitious project, highlighting the wagyu and Angus cattle’s diet of macadamia meal and beer, cultivated directly on the ranch. Emphasizing a local and vertically integrated process, he notes the substantial food consumption of each cow, which ranges from 5,000 to 10,000 pounds annually, necessitating a significant number of macadamia trees.
In a more personal revelation, Zuckerberg shares that his daughter plays an active role in planting these trees and caring for the animals. He expresses his excitement about this journey, stating, “We’re still early in the journey and it’s fun improving on it every season. Of all my projects, this is the most delicious.”
However, this unconventional approach to cattle raising has drawn criticism from animal rights groups. PETA Vice President Shalin Gala voiced his objections on X (formerly Twitter), criticizing Zuckerberg for his methods. Gala’s tweet reflects a call for more humane and ethical treatment of animals, urging a shift towards veganism.
